I would like to be optimistic. How we deal with the ruling oligarchy and its very effective propaganda machine will determine our political future.

Visiting Canada is always a treat. Their resource extraction companies that come down to rape and pillage our landscapes are on a par with our oil and gas industry.

Alan, what a nice piece, tackling an impossible subject from a focused point of view. Made me think too. I’m a US/Canadian dual citizen. US first for 30 years, Canada for 30 years, and now 10 years back in States. I have an advanced degree from the University of Canterbury in England. I’d like to say I have some insight into what you write, but I don’t. I don’t disagree with what say… But I don’t agree with it either. And I have no idea what that means…..Hmmm ….
